NIMISPF
Simple, efficient data management facilities for Natural programmers and Users.
NIMISPF offers maximum benefits to organizations using:
TSO/ISPF
NATURAL 4GL
ADABAS DBMS
z/OS, z/OSe or similar
VTAM, and wish to avoid the siginifcant overhead associated with individual TSO/ISPF user sessions.
NIMISPF is designed to make full use of the NIM TP Monitors efficient sub-tasking
and memory management capabilities, whilst interposing a minimum overhead on the system.
When users logon to NIMISPF, NIM establishes a new operating system subtask for each user, allocating
a unique address range in NIM's virtual address space. Therefore
each user is independent and any user sub-task which may have problems can't affect other users.
By using only the documented operating system interfaces, NIMISPF remains
transportable through OS upgrades.
NIMISPF advantages:
Reduced resource overhead: NIMISPF will consume significantly less
CPU and memory resources than traditional TSO/ISPF users sessions which have the overhead of a full TSO address space per user.
Minimal support required: Typically no dedicated support personnel are required.
Ease of Use: NIMISPF is designed to only include the necessary facilities needed by application
developers, this means simple installation, minimum training and quick response to environment changes.
System Performance: Will be significantly improved by migrating resource hungry TSO/ISPF sessions
to the high performance low overhead NIMISPF environment. NIM also comes with powerful monitoring and
control facilities provide an opportunity for system tuning and the potential to improve resource utilization and cut response times.
Stability: An elegant and logical architecture has resulted in an exceedingly stable, low maintenance product.
Economics: The value of NIMISPF in the areas of resource comsumption, processing
efficiency and reduced support costs guarantees a rapid return on investment, usually in a matter of months.
